Breast lifting involves the surgical reshaping of sagging breasts. Also called mastopexy, it often combined with breast augmentation to increase the size of the breast. The procedure in performed under general anesthesia in the outpatient surgical suite.
Goals- To reshape the breasts for more youthful appearance
- To regain “perkiness”
Candidates- Women of good physical health of any age
- Women of good emotional health with reasonable expectations
Typical Recovery
- Patient will be placed in a foam-tape bra to wear for two days for light support
- Suture removal will occur at seven days
- Return to reasonably normal activity in four to seven days
- Breast shape will settle to normal position in four to six weeks
- Incision lines fade over several months
