Ultrasonic liposuction is typically used to remove fat in areas that are more fibrous in nature, such as the "love handles" in men, or male breast tissue, and in the upper back of men or women. It is always combined with regular liposuction for the most complete removal of the liquified fat. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia when large areas are involved.
