
Breast Lift/ Mastopexy
Mastopexy is the surgical correction of sagging breasts
due to pregnancy, nursing, heredity and gravity. Mastopexy
is often combined with Augmentation Mammoplasty or Breast
Reduction. Mastopexy is most commonly performed under general
anesthesia and generally takes between two and three hours.

Options for Mastopexy: |
- Periareolar – Around the nipple.
- Periareolar and Vertical – Around
the nipple and from the nipple to the breast base.
- Short Scar – Vertically from the
breast base with side extensions.
- Inverted T – Under the curve of the
breast and vertically to the nipple.

| Typical
Recovery Timeframe: |
- Bandages of soft gauze covered by light foam tape
to support the breast and reduce swelling may be
removed about two days after surgery.
- Sutures will be removed five to seven days after
surgery.
- Patient will return to normal activity in 7 to
10 days.
- Breast position will settle to normal position
in three to four weeks.
- Incision lines fade over several months.
